About seven years ago we took the first tour group that Ed Bearss had ever taken to David Bridge—we have come a long ways since that and are proud to present to you the third Confederate offensive during the fall of 1862.  The Civil War Sites Advisory Commission report said the Iuka battlefield was gone—NOT TRUE.  The town of Corinth touts their earthworks—WHY?  The battle of Corinth was the second largest fight of the War in Mississippi.  Davis Bridge an afterthought?  A DRAMATIC NO!

BGES has built a tour unavailable anywhere else—we know the fields, we can show you the movements of the armies, the acoustic shadow of Iuka, the disjointed assault, the turning movement and the death of Little.  Corinth just keeps improving each time we go and we now have access to the most significant parts of the field not available to any other group.  At Davis Bridge we have uncovered new evidence that will leave you questioning the accounts.  We have found the true course of the rivers and Van Dorn’s ingress and egress points into and beyond Davis Bridge including the State Line Road. 

Until the publication of Peter Cozzens’ wonderful book on The Darkest Days of the War:  The Battles of Iuka and Corinth there was precious little to draw students to the sites—now with the aid of the book (despite its faulty maps) we can provide you and exciting and cogent program.  Our evening lodging overlooking the spectacular Pickwick Landing Lake will enchant you.
